Pitchfork Music Festival Preview 2010

It’s that time of year again…Pitchfork Music Fest 2010, 3 days of music minus the snark.  Depending on your interest level you may elect to be a purist and take in full sets, move around to maximize your dollar or go where the spirit moves you.   If you are looking to gameplan which sets to take in and which ones to grab a bevvy or snack during I offer my picks in BOLD. (Fri. & Sun. only for me)   I tend to head for acts that are on the rise and I probably wouldn’t go to see headline (e.g. Best Coast) [Album stream http://bit.ly/bhTEh6] or a genre that I don’t usually shell out for (e.g. Big Boi). [Album stream http://mysp.ac/cQQQxN] Friday has been the province of gimmicks (full albums or write the setlist), but this year sees the addition of stand-up comedy and less of an elder statesman lineup.  Of course the prize in my mind (and I’m certain many others) is the reunion of Pavement.  Here’s to hoping they don’t drop the ball like The Flaming Lips and Spoon have done in closing out the fest the past two years.  By all means have fun and hopefully the restroom situation has been remedied and there is an increased quantity of facilities.
